Most rewards in this game aren't given in the form of liquid gold, but in crafting materials mostly salvaged from trash. GW2 Efficiency is a great tool to see how much gold you're sitting on. Materials are gold. The more you have, the less you have to spend in the future.
I mostly meant it in a way, when guide tells you "craft 15 of something", with the boosters you usually need little more than half. So it is better to just pay attention and stop once you reach the breakpoint for next stage (100->125->150 etc). Get drunk, play sad music. Kiss gold goodbye because after leveling is when it starts to hurt.
First and foremost, check out [fast.farming-community.eu] for everything gold-making. It has information on literally everything related to making gold, from what open world meta events are the most profitable, what spots in the world you can park alts at for good passive income, what gathering tools you want to use, etc.
The key to actually making gold is to sell almost everything you get on the trading post, like materials, and unidentified gear. I think that in 40 minutes, it would be reasonable to make 10 gold if you sell everything you get from events. There are also other farming methods, if you decide you arn't into the meta events.
I'll give this a shot as well. Buy the new gathering tools with Karma that gives Unbound Magic with every swing. Then head to Guild Halls, Home Instance, Flax Farm, Bloodstone Fen or whatever to gather ressources. Not the fastest way but definitely help a lot! I gathered around 4000 that way since Patch day.
Hmm.. for F2P, the fastest way and not boring I think is by joining the world boss train (ofc you need to unlock the waypoint first). You get big amount of exp and somewhat good equipment with a chance of ascended gear. Note: use any kind of exp boost (food, utilities, guild buff, booster, banner) if available.
