Deleting the DPF means losing the (filtered) low pressure EGR. ddxcb • '13 Passat TDI SEL • 2 yr. ago. The EGR is one of the main reasons for the DPF is in use as the EGR makes the engine create more Particulate Matter than without. Thats why when tuners "Tune" the EGR more closed it increases the life of the DPF.
Thankfully my Ibiza hasn't got a DPF (just smokes a LOT) but there is a bit in the manual that talks about them, so presumably it'll be similar for a VW. It echoes what Screwloose says, that the DPF light comes on to warn you that its getting clogged so you need to give it an italian tune up to clear it otherwise engine management comes on Description. This package includes all the hardware you will need for a complete DPF, EGR and Adblue delete. The Basic Economy Package is designed to eliminate the Diesel Particulate Filter, Exhaust Gas Recirculation and Adblue injection system, as well as the factory catalytic converters while utilizing the stock muffler and tail pipe.

Its largely considered that a car fitted with a Diesel Particulate Filter, should cover at least 12,000 miles per year, in order to keep the DPF system healthy, and therefore any goodwill warranty repair would probably depend on how far below that figure the car was being driven. It will also depend on the car being presented for servicing at

The difference between the 2009 and 2010 4 cylinder TDIs and earlier ones is the complex EGR and exhaust treatment system. Every once in a while, the diesel particulate filter does an active regen cycle by injecting fuel after the main combustion, which heats up the DPF and burns up accumulated soot. This uses a little fuel and increases
